LANCASTER AND MORECAMBE MIDWEEK BOWLING LEAGUE
RULES FOR 2021
PLEASE BE AS FLEXIBLE AS POSSIBLE DURING THIS TOUGH PERIOD:

-
The games will be played under the normal league rules in the Handbook
-
All games will be played under covid restrictions until any further update in June
-
Home teams are responsible for making sure the games are played in a safe space.
-
All games 21 up
-
The doubles games to go first and the singles games to finish off
-
We have tried to make this as flexible as possible to help combat Covid.
-
You can freely without restriction move players around teams up or down. If you are short and play on a Thursday then you are able to use a player to help create a 10 but only from the next above team (So C team for example, a B Team player can come to help out on the Thursday BUT ONLY IF REQUIRED!)
-
Matches to start at 6.30 without lights at 7 pm with lights start and end and 7pm all other times.
-
Players must be there for 7.30pm or 8pm so they will go on last in the singles.
DOUBLES MATCHES
-
Team to be decided prior to match who will play in Doubles and singles.
-
The captains will draw each others pairings and will be turn of a card who plays who
-
3 x doubles will start the match off
-
Handicap will go on the card Home and Away
-
2 points for each double win and score goes to final aggregate
-
If not enough players to make up the singles games then Captain will draw someone from the doubles to play in the singles. No limit
-
We expect fair play and that teams do not just turn up with 6 who will then play the singles too
-
IF YOU CANNOT RAISE A DOUBLES PAIRING FOR WORRY ETC then 1 doubles match can become 2 x singles to help any issues. It just means you will not score 2 points for doubles win but singular for singles.
-
The opposing captain will then decide which 2 doubles will go into the singles to cover.
-
This is only to be used if you cannot raise a 3rd doubles pairing due to concerns.
-
If this is to happen the captain must inform the opposing captain at the start and this will need to be arranged without argument so we can be as flexible as we can be
-
Until an update in June we must stick to safe play. That is following covid restrictions and keeping everything clean and as little contact as possible.
-
PLEASE USE SENSE, TRY NOT TO BOWL INTO EACH OTHERS END and try to keep as little amount of people in close proximity as possible. Keep to social distancing.
SINGLES MATCHES
-
There will then be 4 singles matches to end the night
-
Again each Captain will draw the opposing names to create the match to be played
-
Captains must announce their singles players at start of game, including if a doubles player is needed.
-
Match is 21 up
-
As with Doubles, please abide by current restrictions until a further update in June
-
PLEASE TRY NOT TO BOWL INTO EACH OTHERS ENDS
RESULTS
-
2 points for a doubles win
-
1 point for a singles win
-
2 points for home aggregate
-
3 points for away aggregate
-
Bonus point for each single figure winner.
